Reno Update
It's been a while since I posted anything about the renovation. I've taken some pictures of work that's been done up until now, so if you're interested, just follow the cut!
So this is where I've been living since my return from the motel. Behind the TV you can see the new framework of the bedroom expansion. I swear, my bedroom is going to be decadently HUGE!
And this would be my new tub and shower - it's also doubling as a bathroom and kitchen sink for the moment. The only other running water is in the basement. The shower curtain is only temporary until the floor ceramics get installed and I figure out what colour the walls are going to be. And that tub is wonderfully deep! I haven't been able to use the bath yet, just the shower. There's a leak in the overflow drain, you see, that will be fixed soon, I hope!
And this would be my spectacular front door! I am SO in love with it that it's SICK! *LOL* And as Michael pointed out, there are M's in the glass. Heehee! M for Metallica? He said one for Metallica and one for Michael and I guess I can live with that. *LOL* We're not using them for the time being - not wanting to damage them during the work. That's why the inside doorknob isn't on yet as why we're using the vestibule for storage. What was once a small, dark space is now going to be nice and open and airy!
Here are the inside and outside views of the new front windows. They are SO gorgeous! The nicest ones in the neighbourhood if I do say so myself. *grin*
And this would be what's left of the old bathroom, soon to be turned into the powder room. A little pedestal sink will go where the toilet is right now and the toilet will move under the window. I'll also have a small storage cabinet between where the sink will be and the doorway. I just can't WAIT to have a second toilet in the house. *LOL* For 30 years I've been wanting a second toilet in my home and I'm finally getting it!
This is the basement, where Michael's room will be. We replaced the windows. They used to be half the size of these ones and the place was dank and dark. These new windows let in SO much light! I couldn't believe I actually had the room to insall them above the ground, you know? It changes the whole feel of the space, I gotta say. Michael's just excited that he'll be going from a tiny bedroom (which is now my new big bathroom) to one that's 3 times the size.
So that's where we are at the moment. Things are finally beginning to be constructed. There's been a lot of plumbing and electrical work done, but that doesn't make for very good pictures. *LOL* The new kitchen cabinets are scheduled to arrive on the 17th and then the fun will really begin! *LOL* Lots to do before then though. Floor to lay, walls to repair and paint, more electrical wiring to be brought in. The fun never ends!
