So, Yesterday...

I have a fuck-ton of books. And a dearth of reasonable sized boxes to pack them in. This is my dilemma. I wanted to get all the books packed first, simply because they are so multitudinous, they are heavy so can go on the bottom of piles, and because it's the biggest job. So right now, I'm packing the 2 cubic foot boxes I have 2/3rds full of books and then topping off with linens and other light-weight stuff. This bothers my sense of order. *LOL* Yes, believe it or not, I have one of those.
So the box tally for yesterday is...
9 boxes of paperbacks
1 box of assorted electronics
1 box of photo albums and empty picture frames
4 boxes of hardcovers and linens
2 boxes of trade paperbacks and small hardcovers.
We took the paperbacks and electronics over to the storage space as well as a large plastic container filled with cross-stitch materials that was taking up much-needed floor space in the study, which is where my main work area is right now. Because I have a fuck-ton of books. *LOL*
I was ready to continue packing yesterday, but my back was telling me that it was about to go on strike so I figured discretion was the better part of valour and stopped for the day. I have a small folding table that I've set up to rest the boxes on while I fill and tape them and that helps alot. Not so much bending. And that reminds me, I have to get more tape today.
So onward we pack, Michael and I. I wish he would feel the sense of urgency that I do and stop rolling his eyes whenever I call for him to get the boxes, or reach for the stuff that's too high for me to get. July 7th is less than a month away and that's not a long time. But then again, he comes by his procrastination honestly, for I am the QUEEN of procrastination.
I was so into my packing yesterday that I forgot about the live feed from Donington and so missed Iron Maiden. DAMN! I may not be the biggest Maiden fan there ever was, but I sure do enjoy seeing them live (well, recorded live - Oh, you know what I mean. *LOL*). Their Rock in Rio DVD is one of my favorites. And one day I will actually see them live and in person!
Now these pictures made my weekend! Look at the trim and fit Danish drummer with his curls and adorable smile! And that gorgeous boy of his. If you zoom into the first one, you'll see the ubiquitous Ulrich tongue sticking out. Heehee!

Now it's time for me to make my game plan for the day. Books, boxes, more books... AIYEEE!! *grin* Maybe another cup of coffee first, huh?

on 2007-06-11 05:54 pm (UTC)I'll be really interested to hear how your renovations are going. I'm just starting to scribble down design plans for knocking through the kitchen next year and I'm already overwhelmed at just how much you need to take into consideration.
Speak to you soon, hopefully!
