It's a gorgeous day out. Warmish and sunny. It gives me hope that spring might actually be on its way. I've sincerely had quite enough of winter, thank you very much. So nice day, daylight savings time on the clocks and I'm a happy gal.

I'm hoping to write today. I have a goal of at least a couple of thousand words in order to catch up with my word count goals that I've missed the past couple of days. Week 2 of Biffno bites and it bites HARD! I did, however, come up with a title in chat yesterday. All out of the blue and everything, right in the middle of discussing inter-world travel with H and Fred. *LOL* So maybe now that this project has an actual title I can barrel my way through this pain in the ass week. What's the title, you ask? Laid Bare. I think it's got a certain ring to it - and it does reflect a little of what I hope will happen in the story. Okay... a LOT of what will happen. *LOL*

In other news... well, there's not much. I had Bella (my little SUV) fixed last week. I'd had some arsehole back into me last summer and destroy the molding along the passenger side and do some cosmetic damage to the front passenger door. So FINALLY, she looks her beautiful self again.

I've finished my 2 The Authority graphic novels - they were over WAY too quick! I love this series! I gave them to Michael to read and he quite enjoyed them as well. Of course, he doesn't want his very own Midnighter the way I do. *LOL* So now I have to add the next two to my Amazon wish list.

Only 4 days of work coming up this week. I have Friday off. YAY!!! And Michael may be going to spend the weekend at his buddy's so they can upgrade his computer. *crossing fingers* If that's the case, I'm locking the door and hibernating with my laptop for the whole damned weekend. Gonna write my little brains out!

And it's odd, eh? I've discovered that writing comes much easier when I use the laptop. I bought that new little one, because the big one is just too heavy to tote back and forth to the office every day for just 30 minutes of writing - if that. It's about half the size of the HP - a 14 inch screen size as opposed to the 17 inch. I dunno, I guess I 'feel' more author-like with the laptop compared to the desktop. So I shall be switching over very soon and get down to my writing for the day.

And that's really about all I can think of to bore you with. *LOL* Hope everyone on the flist is having a wonderful Sunday!

Aw, you got a springish day! It's bitterly windy here, alas. *crosses fingers for your long weekend of solitude*

That's interesting that you find it easier to write on the small laptop. It's like with some things, I find I need to write them longhand and type them up after or they don't get written. I wonder if a laptop would help with that? Not that I don't already want one anyway (but reaaaally don't have the money *pouts*).

What I did... with Windows Vista coming out and all... I went out and looked for bargains on laptops still running XP. Since I'm only using it for writing and emailing and surfing, it didn't need to be RAM heavy or have a spectacular video or sound card. In other words, I went on the cheap. *LOL* I managed to get this puppy - an Acer - for $550, tax included. Which was a good third cheaper than 'current' models. (I also got my team award from work for last year, so I allowed myself a splurge - because writing means a lot to me, you know?)

It was bitter with wind here for all of last week as well. I would expect that the good weather will hit you in the next day or two. :)

Yeah, I don't want Vista aaaaaanywhere near me, lol. Very good idea! Definitely something to keep in mind. Though, really, I don't know that I *would* want just a barebones lappy, if for no other reason than my current desktop is now over four years old and if I'm doing the relocating type thing, a laptop would be much easier. (And depending on where, the only possible take-with type, for that matter!)

Laptops are more portable, so it's easier to do spur of the moment writing whereas desktops require a little more production. That's enough to kill the urge for me anyway.

There are times when that's all it takes for me too. *LOL*

It's feeling distinctly springish here today, too. Enough to get me to actually leave the house and go for a walk in the sunshine. And the snow is retreating from the front door and crashing off the roof and scaring the cat. So it's all good :-)

I'm very much attached to my desktop, but just recently I started using David's laptop for reading (and writing) in bed. I'm still tied to the home network cable, as we don't have the wireless network here, but it's so nice not to have to sit in my chair all the time.

And yay for warm weather! Finally! I thought this winter would never end.
