Shocking The Ex
Jun. 12th, 2007 08:00 pmWell, I didn't get a whole lot of stuff done today. The ex and his wife came over to pack up some of his stuff that was left here. M.E. is a nice gal and quite honestly, I think she's a little lonely after moving up here last year from the States. She's a tall one. 6'2 or 3 at least. She's a good inch or two taller than Ben. Ex-Navy, I believe. And she's not much younger than him, so we're much in the same age bracket.
All this to say, we get along. *LOL*
So M.E. and I basically spent the afternoon kibitzing while Ben packed up his scale models and bits and tads of things from up in the study. There's not a whole lot of stuff left up there, that's for sure! He has more stuff to get out of there - an old computer, some books, records, odds and ends. Then I can get back in there and pack up the magazines and my cross-stitch charts and mags. They're coming back tomorrow, because Ben still has other stuff here and there, but this time, no kibitzing for me! I have work to do! I think I'll work in the kitchen. Start packing all the dishes and stuff that I won't need in the next month.
Michael and I did, however, take a load of boxes over to the storage area before they got here.
Yesterday, though, I DID manage to finish packing all my books in the study. Yep, that fuck-ton I was talking about is all packed up. Of course, there are still little islands of books in the rest of the house left to pack, but compared to what's done, they're negligible.
And it's HOT here today. Up in the mid-80s F. I'm hoping it'll cool down a bit tomorrow, but I doubt it will.
Oh, I got a kick out of introducing Ben and M.E. to Lordi. ROTFL!!! I played them Hard Rock Hallelujah first, which they really loved. Then I showed them the video - because I bought the special edition CD/DVD from Amazon. Well... I thought they were going to die! In a good way, of course! I thought Ben would be a little shocked that I liked them so much, but ever since freaking him out with Rob Zombie last week, he's expecting anything from me. *LOL*
And I've just finished off the Breyers Double Churned Extra Creamy French Vanilla ice cream. It was SO good!
So today has been a bit of a vegging day, but that's okay, I'll be back to packing with a vengeance tomorrow!
All this to say, we get along. *LOL*
